Do you want to keep RURAL James City County, RURAL?

DID YOU KNOW?
    -
The 2003 JCC Comprehensive Plan has the rural area of Croaker (land north of Croaker Rd. to the Ware Creek all the way to the Legends at Stonehouse Golf Course as "Low Density Residential"?    (scroll down for more!)

Now, look at what this land really looks like...

          2004 aerial photograph.

another county map shows this same area as:

Planned Unit Development (PUD-C, PUD-R)
The purpose of the planned unit development district is to promote efficient use of land, allow flexible application of development controls, allow various densities and land uses, protect surrounding property and protect the natural features and scenic beauty of the land. This shall be accomplished by permitting a wider range of densities and uses to be developed in accordance with a master plan which allows for clustering of uses or densities in various areas of the site. (Ord. No. 31A-88, ' 20-139, 4-8-85)

Do you wish that this rural area be preserved, not only in a rural character, but as rural land?

Let your voice be heard!

Tell your representatives how they should represent you...

State law does not allow the down zoning of property, but YOU can make a difference...
before developers propose development that taxes the county resources (does your child go to school in a trailer???), let your voice be heard!

Be proactive, and email your representatives, and impress upon them that even though they can develop this RURAL land in a flexible manner, the citizen's they represent are not flexible in their views on preserving what is left of the rural areas in which we live.

More to come!
